Document 4: Supervisor Development Pathway - Developmental Plan

The research indicated that if an employee is not tracked through their development, the development will more than likely be haphazard or forgotten about all together. This feedback is the underpinning reason for the development of this tool. The 'Skills Training and Coaching Guide' has been designed as a guide, to assist Training and Human Resource departments when creating an employee's development plan.

The Development Plan has been designed to document:

  • Initial planning for an individuals development:
    • Indentifying the skills gap; and
    • How the skills will be gained
  • Progression of an individual's development.

Aligned to the key skills, this tool provides an avenue to:

  • Conduct a skills analysis on each skill set;
  • Review development progress;
  • Document learning strategies to be used; and
  • Document evidence gathered to support learning and development and/or provide comment.
